This tumbler is a gathering of herpetology, zoology, fieldwork and other animal/nature related observations by me. I'm a student earning a degree in wildlife biology, working in a natural history museum preserving animals for future generations, spending countless hours in the field herping, birding and observing and enjoying documenting my finds to teach others about the wonders of the natural world.

New Years Resolutions

So my new years resolution was to try to find every species of herptofauna in the state… I am trying to find 153 species. 43 snakes, 37 lizards, 7 turtles,  21 frogs & toads, 45 salamanders. I’ll be keeping track of my progress on the page on my Herp Quest 2011 page on my tumblr.

I also decided to be ambitious and see and record 500 bird species on my newly started lifelist (which will also be tracked on my tumblr through daily count updates).

And since mammals were being left out I plan to record at least 50 species of mammals.

Its going to be a busy, but awesome year… if any of my followers are herpers and would like to accompany on some of my expeditions across the state let me know! :D
